HOMEOWNER

Settlement day!!
Today was an amazing day as a parent of amazing children. We don't often take the time to reflect on what a good job we do as parents, when your adult children accomplish above and beyond. Today was one of those days as I sat witness to Julie's New Home settlement. Yes, she is only 23, but an adult at that!!
Just watching her present herself as an adult in the community today, was very heartrending and gratifying. I always tell my children that you have to have the valleys to enjoy the peaks, and today was sure one of those glorious peaks!! Words can not describe the feelings that I felt today, I wish every parent that joy sometime in their life!! Thank you Julie and Brad for giving me and your dad that awesome opportunity of pride and gratitude!!
I know you will turn this new house into a HOME in no time at all!! We love YOU!!

We are proud to make this official public announcement, especially before the wedding!!

With less than 90 days till the big weekend..another item to check off the list!!
Even funnier story that the fellow that measured Elliot for his tux, is the son of one of our Groomsmen from our wedding 31½years ago.. We shared with him some pretty funny stories about his dad from 'back in the day'
This is a joyous time for celebration of life!!
Hug someone you love today! Don't wait until tomorrow!!
With love and gratitude for the small things!!

Bon Appetit'

Food Glorious Food!!

A toast to Philadelphia Restaurant Week.. It gives you the opportunity to try some amazing places as a very discounted price. Last night we had the delightful opportunity to dine @ Lacroix @ The Rittenhouse. It was a wonderful dining experience with amazing detail. From the moment we entered the beautifully appointed dining room to the moment we left,(with a watermelon party favor) it was such a positive experience. Each and every course had a unique and beautiful presentation as well as amazing taste.
From a celery soup, to lobster, to short-ribs to chocolate pistatio dessert, to sparking wine (and most of you know that after a glass,Ii'm a different human being) it was just a delightful evening. Especially since we could share it with Julie and had Whitney as our hostess of the mostest!! Our server Omar could not have made the dining experience any better!!
Merci !!

BIG SNOW FORECAST

Mykidsarecool

OK, the most updated forcast is MAJOR SNOW STORM..8-13" of snow is due to arrive on my doorstep by the end of this event tomorrow! I really do love a good snow, just bad timing! I've been recouping from surgery for the past 4 days and really need to get out and play! I won't even be permitted to play in the snow, or even operate the snow blower!! I will have to just watch everyone else romp in the newly fallen snow!!
Happy Birthday to my sister MaryLou, she is happily celebrating her birthday, and her 2nd wedding anniversary in warm, tropical Maui!! Happy Birthday to Steven (her husband) who had a birthday on 2/9. How nice to have both birthdays and their wedding anniversary in a 5 day span.
I stayed up and watched the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics, a very good production and entertaining evening.
I'm actually 'caught up' to date on "wedding stuff" so I guess today will be a good day to create a sewing project or two and to curl up with a good book and do some research on my 'next car' Not really sure what I want, I'm sure I will have a dream soon that will clue me in! This weather really makes me dream for the Baseball season to begin, soon, real soon!! I ream of the sounds of hearing "batter up" oh well, till then, I guess I'll only hear it in my dreams!!

Rest 'n Recover

Electronic communication rocks!!
Ok, now that the extensive oral surgery is over, my only way of communicating is electronic! Considering what I went through aesthete, this entire post should be in CAPITALS, so just know that without good pain meds, I probably would not even be able so sit and bloc this.
On a good note, I will be completely healed before the wedding. I will be able to eat real food by then. I may even lose a few pounds through all of this. (last time I had similar surgery, I lost 23 lbs in 6 weeks)
So happy to report from Brad & Karin that the Invitation order is being processed!!
Some more VERY GOOD NEWS..Our Jewel, Julie Rachael, has bought her very first house! I am one proud parent. It is quite unusual to be able to say that both of my children have purchased homes by the age of 23 !! Not that I am taking any credit for their success, but Elliot & I must have contributed in some way to have raised two such amazing individuals!! We could not be any prouder!! I see such bright futures for all my children. Hey, we will officially be "IN-LAWS" on May 21st, just think, In 11 months, from being "The RENTS" in 2005 courtesy JRH to the "IN-LAWS" in 2006 ((courtesy BKH+KMN) It's been a whirlwind year, and I know that the best is yet to come..
Time to Rest & Recover..(at least for a few days I need TLC from everyone!!

I have also found a seamstress who will do my alterations. I may even sleep tonight!! Have a great day, I know I will!!

3 more flights booked !! YIPPIE!!
Eureka!! Flights are booked for Grandpop Nate, Tracy,& Toby!
Tracy and her new husband Toby are being kind enough to drive down from North Carolina to Ft Lauderdale to pick up Grandpop on their way to NAPA!! So the invasion of the East Coast to Napa in May is growing!! This is a good thing. Now one more thing to cross off that 'list' hurray!!
